“The information was concise and fully on topic, it was great!” – Feedback from an interpreter who recently enjoyed a remote interpreting tutorial.
Has your face-to-face work now dramatically reduced? Are you considering working remotely from home? What sort of technology will you need? How does it differ from face-to-face interpreting?
Wendy Ledeux has 14 years’ experience of video relay interpreting as well as extensive experience using Zoom hosting Linguistpd webinars and is happy to share that experience with you on a 1:1 basis! You’ll learn about the technological requirements of remote interpreting, how to assess your own suitability, discuss practical and ethical considerations and much more!
In this one hour tutorial, you will benefit from individual attention and recommendations on your remote interpreting setup. There’s more to remote interpreting than a good internet connection and it presents its own challenges and rewards.
This session is eligible for 1 structured CPD point and will contain material to help you gain further unstructured CPD. Wendy can be flexible and adapt to cover your own learning outcomes where appropriate.
Learning Outcomes include:
- Have an overview of the technological requirements of remote interpreting
- An understanding of practical and ethical considerations when working remotely
- A basic awareness of the Zoom meeting software
- Signposting to further resources and reading for this domain
- Your own learning outcomes as appropriate
