“I started interpreting in 1997. I was not formally trained – more home grown. My spouse is Deaf. My first position was as an interpreter in mainstream education. Then after one year I went into the freelance part of interpreting.

I did that for over 20 years including working as a VRS (Video Relay Services) interpreter for 12 years. I am now working for the state of Indiana as a program director as well as an interpreter.”
