Claire Adshead

Claire’s journey with the Deaf Cancer Support Project began on a very personal level. Having her own lived experience of cancer, she first joined as a member seeking support. From there, she became a volunteer, then a staff member, and is now proud to serve as Project Manager.

Along the way, Claire has built valuable knowledge of medical issues related to cancer and the healthcare system. This, combined with her lived experience, helps her bridge the gap between deaf people and the medical world, ensuring that information is clear, accessible, and supportive.

Claire is dedicated to ensuring that no one in the deaf community feels isolated during their cancer journey. With warmth, empathy, and a commitment to creating a safe environment, she strives to offer understanding, connection, and hope.
